NATIONAL TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
Printing SA is seeking to employ a National Training and Development Project Manager on a six (6)month fixed term contractual basis.
The key performance areas of the suitable applicant include:
• Courseware Delivery Management.
• Courseware Development Management.
• Financial Management.
Training Project Management Responsibilities:
Develop and manage an annual project plan, per course, in line with the annual training calendar, based on course demand analysis, to ensure effective and efficient course delivery operations. The scope of which includes:
- · Learner registration, enrolment, and learning programme administration.
- · Management of all Lecturer and Learner onboarding to the online course delivery platform.
- · Provide Learner and Lecturer support for the online platform.
- · Ensure the effective administration of all online classes.
- · Implement, manage, oversee, and report on assessments.
- · Ensure the timeous issuing of learner statements of results and certificates.
- · Apply for, manage, and report on FP&M SETA discretionary training grants.
- · Implement effective and purposeful training methods.
- · Manage the technologies and technical personnel required to administer, manage, and deliver training.
- · Ensure learner certificates issued are all archived and follow up on any outstanding certificates.
- Develop a training database of all registrations per course, inclusive of financial records in terms of income, expenses, and profit.
- Manage the effective delivery of learning programmes in terms of the training schedule timelines.
- Analyse member, learner, and lecturer satisfaction with learning programmes and suggest continuous improvement strategies for approval and adoption.
• Research, survey and engage the industry to determine and assess the demand for the current basket of courses, to inform future planning and the training basket mix.
• Ensure that all learner records are uploaded to the National Training and Development Archive.
• In collaboration with the Marketing Office, effectively market learning programmes to the industry.
· Check accuracy of reports, quality assuring all documents, and archiving appropriately.
· Keep abreast of training trends, developments, and best practices.
· Produce National Training Reports.
· Develop project plans for new courseware development, current courseware development updates, per course, in line with the SETA funded projects (where applicable), based on course demand analysis, to ensure effective, efficient and demand driven course development operations. The scope of which includes:
o Manage consultants who undertake any curriculum or learning materials development.
o Apply for, manage, and report on FP&M SETA training development grants.
• Manage SETA Funded projects, reporting on all income and expenditure per project.
• Produce summary reports on each project, monitor their progress, and ensure satisfactory and complete close out of each.
• Ensure all project contracts, annexures and supporting documentation is complete and correctly archived.
• Maintain an accurate database and protect all intellectual property of Printing SA.
• Research, survey and engage the industry to determine and assess the demand for future course development, to inform future planning and the training basket mix.
• Effectively manage training budgets.
• Determine annual pricing for all courses within the training basket mix.
• Ensure the cost effectiveness of learning programmes.
• Increase the pool of lecturers per course, based on demand, by following an effective selection and recruitment process.
• Manage lecturer claims.
• Ensure accuracy of ISOE (SETA funded projects) financial reports.
The successful application should have:
• A thorough understanding of South African Skills Development Legislation with specific reference to the Sector Education and Training (SETAs, SAQA, NQF, QCTO, DHET, NAMB).
• A sound working knowledge of SETAs with specific reference to discretionary grant applications and administration (FP&M SETA would be beneficial).
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Printing, Packaging, Signage, and Visual Communications Industry.
Qualification requirements of the applicant:
• Post Matric Management and/or Project Management Qualification
• 5 years post industry trade training (advantageous).
• A minimum of 5 years working experience in training management and managing large scale complex projects.
• Proficient user of MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
• DTP software usage will be an added advantage.
• Proficient in using a project management programme/software like MS Project, monday.com or similar.
